INTEC – Integration and Naturalisation Tests, the New Way to European Citizenship

This project focuses on the reasons for introducing integration and naturalisation tests, the way in which the tests were developed and put into practice, and the actual effects of the tests on immigrants. It comprises of a comparative study of debates, practices and effects of integration and naturalisation tests in eight EU Member States, an international conference on the outcome of the national studies and the comparative study, and of national seminars of stakeholders in each of the Member States covered by the study.

The project is funded by the European Commission/European Fund for the Integration of Third-Country Nationals and lead by the University of Nijmegen.
The Austrian part of the project is being implemented by the migration expert Dr. Bernhard Perchinig in cooperation with Mag.a Barbara Liegl, head of the Anti-Discrimination Unit at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights.
